Many chemical distributors offer free testing; alternatively, a technician can verify and repair the dispensing system.

Ice quality issues often indicate water system or refrigeration problems: cloudy ice suggests poor water quality or mineral content; soft ice indicates inadequate freeze cycle time or refrigerant issues; small or misshapen cubes typically point to low water flow, scale buildup on evaporator plates, or refrigerant problems. Commercial fryer safety checks include: verifying hi-limit switch operation, checking thermostat accuracy, inspecting gas connections and pressure (gas fryers), testing electrical connections (electric fryers), checking oil filtration system function, inspecting drain valve operation, verifying fire suppression system compatibility, and checking for oil leaks.
