Signs of a refrigerant leak: unit runs but doesn't reach temperature, ice buildup on evaporator coil, hissing or bubbling sounds from refrigerant lines, oily residue near connections or fittings, and higher than normal electricity consumption. A compliant hood cleaning includes: complete degreasing of the hood canopy, all grease filters, the entire ductwork system from hood to exhaust fan discharge, and the exhaust fan and housing. The technician should leave a dated sticker on the equipment and provide a compliance certificate.
